Teen Driving

Overview

Road America’s Teen Driving Program, presented by Kohler Credit Union, goes beyond typical driver’s education by placing participants in real-world emergency situations within a safe, controlled, off-street environment. For over 12 years, West Bend Insurance Company has been a dedicated partner, playing a crucial role in supporting the program and ensuring its success. As the Official Insurance Company of the Teen Driving Program, their commitment has helped countless young drivers develop essential collision avoidance skills, such as emergency braking and hazard recognition. Together, these valued partners make this life-saving program possible.

Driving school participants practice collision avoidance techniques that include:

Emergency lane changes

Braking

Skid control

Variety of other fundamental car control drills

Teen driving school courses are offered April through November on the Road America property. A valid driver’s license or learner’s permit is required. Participants will use Road America supplied vehicles provided by Sheboygan Chevrolet. Supplied cars include Chevrolet Cruze, Impala, Malibu, Trax, or similar.

Participants will partake in intense car control drills behind the wheel with up to three other students in the vehicle. Please consult your doctor if you have motion sickness or any other medical condition that might affect your experience. Parents are highly encouraged to attend with their teen.
