Road America’s Teen Driving Program goes beyond the typical driver’s education by putting participants in common emergency situations while in a safe, controlled, off-street environment. Driving school participants practice collision avoidance techniques that include:
Emergency lane changes
Braking
Skid control
Variety of other fundamental car control drills
Performance Driving 1
Road America’s Performance Driving Program teaches the physics and dynamics of precision driving. Participants learn advanced car control techniques through intense drills involving braking, cornering, and acceleration. This performance driving program includes a variety of car control skills along with some exciting autocross challenges. Exercises will take place at various locations around the property. Participants will also receive a track tour or behind-the-scenes tour of Road America.
Performance Driving 2
Road America’s Performance Driving 2 teaches the physics and dynamics of precision driving. Driving school participants will learn advanced car control techniques through intense drills involving braking, cornering, and acceleration. The seven-hour performance driving program includes a variety of car control skills along with approximately 60 minutes of classroom discussions. The driving school is highlighted by professional on-track lead/follow sessions leaving drivers with an experience of a lifetime.
Winter Driving
Winter driving in the Midwest can be unpredictable, much like the weather. Road America’s Winter Driving Program focuses on customized in-car drills and classroom lessons that cover skid control/recovery, braking, and emergency lane changes. These skill lessons take place on a variety of pavement conditions, which could include ice, snow, and mixed conditions.
This program is ideal for drivers looking to sharpen their winter car control skills or new drivers looking to gain valuable experience.
